Physiotherapy can help with balance and mobility

There is mounting evidence that exercise has arole in falls prevention in people with dementia and Parkinson's disease.

A recent review of randomised controlled trialsconfirmed that well-designed exercise programs that safely challenge balanceand involve three hours of exercise per week, are most effective for olderpeople living in the general community.

Remember to see your physiotherapist if you arenot sure about the best approach for you. If you or someone you know is livingwith dementia or Parkinson's disease, find a physio near you specialising intreatment of older patients or those with neurological conditions.
