The return of Mike Stovell to the Physiotherapy ranks at KPC has been a huge coup for Mark Oberman. Mike adds large amounts of experience to an already experienced team at Kalamunda Physiotherapy Centre. Read on to see what Mike has been up to before his return to the Centre. Mike Stovell first commenced practice in Kalamunda in 1986 . He was only the second person in Australia to dual qualifications in physiotherapy and podiatry giving a unique perspective on the manage of the musculoskeletal system . Over the course of the last 35 years he has developed expertise in the management of lower limb disorders from the foot to the hip . He is returning to Kalamunda physiotherapy in October 2021 to enhance the diversity of clinical practice offered by the clinic .

Mike has also completed studies in Orthopaedic Manual therapy and Advanced Sports Rehabilitation along with currently being enrolled in a Masters in Sports Medicine .Mike has also served as a Curriculum Committee member for the Curtin School of Physiotherapy as well as being a past clinical supervisor for undergraduate podiatrists and post graduate Sports Physiotherapy students. He played a role in the collation and archiving of the history of physiotherapy in West Australia which was published in the history of physiotherapy

He currently is the Mascot for the Gladiator Wrestling club which is the number 1 club in WA for aspiring Olympic and Commonwealth games athletes . His past affiliations has been with the a variety of state league teams including the Claremont Football , Associates Rugby Union and Coastals Netball Clubs as well as being the Sports Physiotherapist for the Great Britain Paralympic Wheelchair basketball team in the lead up to the World Cup.
