August is Tradies National Health month

Nine in ten tradies experienced a work-related injury in the past year and one in two say they live with severe pain. The new data released ahead of Tradies National Health Month (TNHM) which begins 1 August shows the backbone of Australia’s workforce is suffering as productivity pressures mount.

The APA’s 2024 Tradies National Health Month Survey reports that nearly two in three tradies who have seen a physiotherapist experienced significant pain reduction or eradication.

‘Our goal is to break the pain cycle by encouraging tradies to seek professional help, rather than rely on self-medication. Preventive physiotherapy can significantly reduce the risk of chronic injuries and improve overall health outcomes for tradies. We hope this campaign will raise awareness and provide much-needed support to our hardworking tradies,’ said APA Occupational Health Physiotherapist Lucia Tsui MACP.

It’s time to invest in tradies’ health whether you know one, love one or are one.
